The purpose of this program is to provide services for the low income and needy families who reside in the surrounding communities in our area. We  provide not only food to our participants but we will strive to provide a Holistic approach to meet their physical, spiritual and emotional needs. God’s word declares that “the poor will always be with us", so therefore we should always strive to fulfill this area of ministry.

As the Government strives to overhaul the established welfare programs, more and more individuals are caught up in the cycle of poverty. Participants are being dropped from the government programs without adequate resources to provide for their families. Hence, they become angry and bitter at their presumed hopelessness. This is a great opportunity for the “Faith Based Organization” to step in and fulfill this need.. “… for as much as you have done this to one of these …. you have done unto Me.”

As household incomes continue to decline more and more families are turning to the food pantries for help. Many children rely on the feeding programs in school for a hot meal. In response to the growing needs of our clients and the ability to better serve them, in May of 2004, West-Side Social Services was launched .as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. It is incorporated and recognized by the State of Texas. The organization is governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director The work force consists of volunteers who donate their time to make West -Side Soial Services' operation possible.
